Supergoop SPF 30 Lotion Spray + Lip Balm Review

I’m not going to tell you again how OCD I am about sunscreen- you can read that here. What I am going to tell you is that I’ve FINALLY found my dream all body sunscreen brand. I’m psyched. I’ve tested Supergoop! for the last couple months in mountain sun, beach sun, pool party sun, and in my opinion it’s the best you can get for you & your family.

I wanted a safe, natural, easy to apply, cost effective all body & face sunscreen that provides broad spectrum UVA/UVB, is water/sweat resistant, cost effective and not white ghost pallor inducing but see through, smooth, feels great on the skin and doesn’t cause breakouts. And it has to be free of parabens, Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), chemical fragrance and Oxybenzone (all bad for you).

Supergoop passes all these criteria, and is rated 1-3 on EWG’s Skindeep which is super safe, and beats my previously fave body sunscreen! I contacted Supergoop! CEO Dr. Thaggard to tell her SHE ROCKS!! She created the brand in partnership with Healthy Child Healthy World, which is a great non profit educating people about toxic chemicals in products. Watch the super video here.

Supergoop! sent me their Everyday Spray and Acaifusion SPF 30 Lip Balm to try, and are kindly offering 2 of each to giveaway to LivLuna members- these will be part of the mega natural skincare giveaway coming up next week!

Supergoop! SPF 30 Everyday Lotion Spray

The lotion spray is great because it’s not a fine mist of clear liquid distributing particles you could inhale, which is not safe. It’s more of a targeted stream of the lotion and makes application very easy. It comes out like a white lotion, but is smooth and clear as soon as you spread it on your skin, so there’s no awful whiteness to rub in, and no lotion boogers from applying over and over (hate those!). It stays on during a sweaty run or outdoor workout, or swimming, so it’s water resistant, and it really does a superb job at protecting from the sun.

What I also love is that it’s a travel size 3 oz (i keep it in my purse), so you don’t have to check it in on the plane. I usually travel light and only have carry on, so this way I don’t have to transfer it into a smaller container.

It’s also refillable! You can get the 15 or 24 oz pump to keep at home and keep refilling- how great is that? No extra plastic bottles to buy & pollute the earth with- yay! Unlike Europe, it’s so hard to find refillable plastic containers here in the US. We’re so addicted to throwaway plastic it’s gross.

mini cons: Because the spray is water resistant, it is a little sticky on the skin. I don’t mind this because it gives my skin a glowy sheen, but if you like it more matte, try their Save Face Serum, SPF 30+.

Also, it has no essential oil fragrance, which I would love. A yummy smelling natural essential oil version would be MY ULTIMATE SUNSCREEN EVER. Dr. Thaggard- I’m offering to be a human tester for any new scented formulation 🙂

Supergoop! Acaifusion SPF 30 Lip Balm

This is my new GO TO lip balm. It smells yummy, applies clear, shiny and rosy tinted, hydrates my lips, and protects them without parabens, oxybenzone or Retinyl Palmitate without coloring them white- this is a first and a total product MUST HAVE! I’ve never found a lip balm like this, and I’ve been searching far and wide. They put oxybenzone in all of them, and if they don’t they’re white- maybe ok for kids, but lip balm has to feel AND look good for me 😉

People underestimate how much sun exposure they’re lips get, because they don’t put sunscreen on them, and even if you do, you eat, and drink and rub it off, so having SPF30 lipbalm that’s safe AND moisturizing is great.

It comes in MintFusion and AcaiFusion, so fruity or minty, you’re covered!
