Women, Money & Freedom: Is “Alignment” Keeping You From the Business You Really Want?

Women, Money & Freedom: Is “Alignment” Keeping You From the Business You Really Want?

Women, Money & Freedom: Is “Alignment” Keeping You From the Business You Really Want?

What if “I’m not aligned with this anymore” isn’t always intuition?

What if sometimes…it’s fear?

As heart-centered entrepreneurs, we’re encouraged to build businesses that feel meaningful, soulful, and aligned.

And I am ALL for that.

But there’s a tricky line between genuine misalignment and the discomfort that comes with doing something new, vulnerable, and growth-inducing.

And that’s exactly where this conversation gets interesting.

When Alignment Becomes an Escape Hatch

I originally recorded this conversation with Hannele for her podcast, The Freedom Pivot, and in Part 2 we got into something I see ALL the time with heart-centered entrepreneurs.

You create an offer.

You love it.

You’re excited about it.

Then comes the part where you actually have to sell it.

And suddenly…

It’s uncomfortable.

You’re worried people won’t buy.

You’re worried someone will judge you.

You’re worried you’ll hear “no.”

And instead of saying:

“Wow, selling this brings up a lot of fear for me.”

It’s very tempting to say:

“I guess this isn’t aligned anymore.”

So you create something new.

And the cycle starts again.

Because creating is fun.

Creating feels expansive.

Creating lets you stay in possibility.

Selling means someone can say no.

And rejection can feel incredibly personal when your business is connected to your identity and your soul’s purpose.

Uncomfortable Doesn’t Automatically Mean Misaligned

Here’s the distinction I want you to remember:

Discomfort does not automatically mean something is wrong.

Sometimes discomfort means you’re expanding.

Sometimes it means you’re visible.

Sometimes it means you’re doing something you’ve never done before.

Sometimes it means your nervous system is saying:

“Wait…we’ve never done this before. Are we sure?”

And sometimes the answer is:

Yes. We’re sure.

That doesn’t mean you should ignore your intuition or force yourself to do work that genuinely feels wrong.

It means it’s worth getting curious before you decide something is misaligned.

Ask yourself:

Is this really not aligned?

Or am I afraid?

Am I bored with the offer—or uncomfortable with selling it?

Do I need to change the business?

Or do I need to change my relationship with visibility?

Those questions can lead you somewhere very different.

What Are You Really Afraid Of?

One of my favorite parts of this conversation was digging into the fact that fear of success can be just as powerful as fear of failure.

Because what happens if you actually succeed?

What if you make more money than you expected?

What if more people know who you are?

What if your business becomes bigger?

What if people judge you?

What if you become more successful than your partner?

What if your friends see you differently?

What if you become really visible?

Success can bring up a whole new set of fears.

And sometimes those fears disguise themselves as something much more reasonable.

I need to rethink my offer.

I need to find my true purpose.

I don’t think this is aligned anymore.

I need to create something different.

Maybe.

But maybe you’re simply standing at the edge of your next level.

Your Soul Purpose Can Evolve

We also talked about one of my favorite topics: soul purpose.

I don’t believe your purpose has to be one fixed thing you figure out once and then follow perfectly for the rest of your life.

Your purpose can evolve.

Your business can evolve.

You can follow one thread, discover another, and end up somewhere you couldn’t have predicted five years ago.

That’s one of the things I love about entrepreneurship.

There isn’t always a clearly marked path.

Sometimes it feels more like you’re hacking your way through a jungle with a machete.

You take a step.

You learn.

You adjust.

You take another step.

And eventually, you realize you’ve created a path that didn’t exist before.

You don’t need to know the entire path.

You just need to be willing to take the next step.

Build the Business You Actually Want

Ultimately, that’s what this whole conversation about money, alignment, and soul purpose comes back to:

freedom.

Not another 24/7 job.

Not a business that looks successful from the outside but leaves you exhausted.

Not endlessly creating new offers because selling the existing one feels uncomfortable.

A business that gives you more choice.

More time.

More money.

More creativity.

More room to live your actual life.

Because what’s the point of building a successful business if you don’t have the freedom to enjoy what you’ve built?

So the next time you hear yourself thinking, “This isn’t aligned anymore,” pause before you burn everything down and start over.

Get curious.

Maybe it really isn’t aligned.

Or maybe you’re being asked to stretch into something new.

Maybe the discomfort isn’t a sign to stop.

Maybe it’s a sign that you’re growing.
